This sketchbook contains scenes from life at the station from the perspective of a young man, Oscar; who works as a stockman. He draws scenes of battles, animals, lover's arguments, meetings between people, steam ships and the costumes of the police forces, house 'gins' and white ladies, etc. c.1887.

The sketches are done in an exercise school book given to him by an overseer at the station. As an aborignal child of 10, Oscar is given to him to put to work.
